Everything on ProteinBenchmark — the calculators, the database, the articles, the methodology — is for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not medical advice, nutritional therapy, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are on prescription medication (including GLP-1 receptor agonists such as semaglutide, tirzepatide or liraglutide), pregnant, breastfeeding, have kidney disease, an eating disorder history, or any chronic health condition, please consult a registered dietitian or your physician before changing your protein intake or diet based on anything on this site.

Accuracy & "as is"

We put significant effort into making the nutrition data accurate — see data sources and methodology — but figures from upstream sources (USDA, Open Food Facts, manufacturer labels, restaurant chains) can be updated, restated, or simply wrong, and product formulations change. The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Restaurant dishes for independent (non-chain) restaurants are explicitly marked as estimates reconstructed from USDA ingredients. Treat them as directional, not clinical.

Affiliate disclosure

The roadmap includes adding affiliate links (Amazon Associates and similar) on product pages, subject to programme approval. When affiliate links go live, ProteinBenchmark may earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through those links, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links never affect a product's score or ranking — the Protein Density tier system is fixed and deterministic, and the database is sorted by the math. Affiliate links will be marked with rel="sponsored" per FTC guidelines and disclosed on every page that uses them.

Trademarks & product names

Brand and product names referenced on the site (Quest, RXBAR, Fairlife, Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, and so on) are the trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners. Use here is descriptive — to identify the specific product or medication being discussed — and does not imply any endorsement of, sponsorship by, or affiliation with ProteinBenchmark. If you are a brand owner and would like a listing corrected or removed, see /contact.

Acceptable use

You're welcome to read the site, share links, and cite the methodology in your own work. Please don't scrape the database to rebuild it elsewhere without crediting the upstream sources (USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts contributors) and ProteinBenchmark, and please don't represent the calculators or database as your own product. Open Food Facts data is subject to the ODbL — copying it requires attribution and share-alike of any derived database.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ProteinBenchmark and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the site or reliance on its content — including health outcomes related to decisions made based on the calculators or database. If a jurisdiction does not permit the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability, those exclusions or limits apply only to the extent permitted by that jurisdiction's law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site grows. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
